			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In this essay, the author will discuss the question on why nonprofit sector is considered the predominant organizational form in some cultural activities, with an special emphasis in the situation in Chile reviewing literature on the topic. In the first part, the author will make a general review on nonprofit sector, starting from basic definitions and then focusing on some economic and operative aspects that make it the most used form of organization among cultural entities. This chapter will also consider some historic and social approaches to give an overview on the topic from different points of view. In a second part, the author will review the Chilean experience relative to nonprofit sector, stressing those historical and social factors that promoted the adoption of this form of organization in civil society, and specifically in the cultural sector. In this part, will be also reviewed the nonprofit from actual experiences and research in the Chilean cultural context, with an specific emphasis in film festival as cultural events and its relationship with nonprofit. In a third section, the author will discuss the idea why the nonprofit organizations are the form preferred by cultural entities in Chile, with special focus on film festivals.</p>

<p>Valdivia vive una contradicción y que necesariamente debe resolver. Por una parte estimula la creación de su potencial creativo sumándose a la corriente mundial en torno al concepto de ciudades e industrias creativas (Landry, 2001) y por otro intenta potenciar la industria primaria, altamente cuestionada internacionalmente por contaminante, como es la celulosa.</p>
<p>Para llegar a definirse, sin duda, que debe haber una discusión más seria y abierta entre autoridades y la ciudadanía en torno al eje de desarrollo de la zona, pero con argumentos sólidos y que no apunten a la falacia del empleo, que habitualmente se utiliza en este tema. Sin bases muy concretas ni datos muy precisos, este dato del empleo, más bien se transforma en un slogan tendiente sólo a conseguir el apoyo político necesario para instalarse en una zona y aminorar la critica ciudadana.</p>
<p>Y esto no ocurre solo aquí, muy cerca tenemos el caso de la crisis entre Argentina y Uruguay por el uso del río de la Plata como parte de la linea de producción de las plantas celulosas en suelo uruguayo. Uno de los principales argumentos trasandinos ante la corte Internacional de Justicia de La Haya por este conflicto es que turismo y celulosas son incompatibles</p>
<p>Comparto que ambas apuestas son contradictorias. Es la una o es la otra, pero no ambas. Lamentablemente en el estado actual, las industrias creativas en nuestra zona son las afectadas, pese a que tienen potencial de ser motores económicos importantes para el desarrollo futuro de la zona y que se hacen esfuerzos por estimularlas.</p>
<p>Valdivia se autodefine como la ciudad mas linda del sur de Chile, y bajo esa premisa ha desarrollado una industria turística con un interesante desarrollo, pero sobre todo con un increible potencial.</p>
<p>La ciudad aspira a ser ciudad creativa en sentido expresado por diversos autores (Landry, 2001; Florida, 2002), lo que junto con la atracción de inversión económica está vinculado, entre otros temas, a una alta calidad de vida y, no cabe duda, que una planta de celulosa y su ducto donde sea que desagüe apunta en sentido contrario.<br />
La zona tiene indudablemente potencial en turismo, industrias culturales y creativas, a diferencia de otras zonas del país, pues cuenta además de paisajes e inversión (posibles de encontrar en muchos lugares) con el factor excluyente en este punto que son personas interesadas y capacitadas (capital creativo) y el interés de las autoridades (Prochile, ARDP, etc).</p>
<p>La zona debiera apuntar a generar y potenciar industrias que sean sustentables ambiental y económicamente y que puedan sostenerse en el tiempo. Los argumentos en cuanto a que quienes están en contra de la celulosa están en contra del trabajo y del desarrollo no resisten en más mínimo análisis.</p>
<p>Acá el tema es que clase de desarrollo queremos y yo aspiro a vivir en una zona en que el desarrollo tenga en la creatividad su principal herramienta de trabajo y no en la destrucción de nuestro entorno y, por tanto, de nuestra calidad de vida.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Bienvenidos. A partir de hoy quiero hacer renacer Sandiacala como una plataforma de difusión de contenidos en torno a la cultura, economía cultural y las industrias creativas.</p>
<p>Luego de un año en Londres, donde curse un <a href="http://www.kcl.ac.uk/schools/humanities/depts/cci/ma/cci.html" target="_blank">Master of Arts en Industrias Culturales y Creativas</a> en la <a href="http://www.kcl.ac.uk/" target="_blank">King&#8217;s College London</a>, las experiencias y aprendizajes han sido muy fructíferas y espero poder transmitir parte de aquello en estos textos y notas. Espero, además, que estas ideas puedan servir y colaborar en el desarrollo de Chile y Latinoamérica desde la perspectiva cultural.</p>
<p>En este blog añadiré textos académicos, papers, columnas y notas que desde las diversas perspectivas e idiomas intentarán contribuir al debate y al diálogo en torno a las industrias culturales y creativas desde una mirada del SUR, sin olvidar, sin duda, la influencias que desde el NORTE se han hecho sentir en estas corrientes y tendencias desde su origen.</p>
<p>Espero que sea de vuestras utilidad y quedo muy entusiasmado con la ideas de recibir sus ideas, comentarios y feedback en general.</p>
